The Mandarin Spawn Project - Color scheme chosen... thoughts? [UPDATED pics]

I did one of the knee masks too... this will be closer to the actual overall scheme. The Shield, as stated, will be more of the "jewelry" bling... This is still a work in progress, but you get the idea... The top area are black flames (it's blurred here), and that's how a lot of the detail will be on his head, etc.

I'm gonna keep it as non-fruity as possible overall, but I'm keeping the ble/purple scheme I think as accents mostly, just because it's one that is a bit different than I've done (I've never really used purple in any of my customs), and I haven't seen a scheme like this done yet.

Oh yeah... and mine will be all poseable and stuff too.

When you say it's 75% done, is that with the paint job?

The only painting done is what you see here. [img]smile.gif[/img] I just wanted to do the shield and knee to get the feel for the colors. The final figure has a while yet... once it's built, then it'll be a bit for the paint to get done. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Keeping the silvers is a very good notion, I can't imagine him any other way. The shield and mask accents look good, but I think the kabuki-looking masks should maybe stay white. The purple/blue has a heavy metal appeal to it, and although it may fit the character, the "mandarin" aspect may be lost if it's not an authentic pallet. ...I guess I don't have any better suggestions.

This may be the most anxiously awaited custom ever.

Well, lets just throw convention totally out the window. I don't care about authenticuty too much, unless that's my main goal going into it. I was gonna try to do a new take on the Mandarin idea and use authentic Asian colors... but I figured... "Nah."

The Kabuki mask on the shield and leg may end up white though, just because. The one on the shield is bright silver right now... but that may be one area that may go natural. We'll see...

I just want it to look cool when it's all done. [img]wink.gif[/img]
